This ritual athame has a design derived from a blend of styling from medieval Europe and the ancient Celts. With elaborate scroll work decorating its hilt and sheath, it offers a blend of silver and gold-toned decoration throughout, accented by blue, faceted stones that are set within the sheath and crossguard. The crossguard, together with the pommel, flares upward in a fashion that blends decorative styling with comfort, allowing the athame's haft to fit easily into your hand even as the design readily catches the eye.
The whole athame has an approximate length of 12 3/4", with a blade that is approximately 7 1/2" long, double edged, and made of stainless steel.
You must be over 18 to purchase this item The athame's primary use is for ritual and magical purposes only, to direct energy; if things such as herbs or cords need to be cut, another knife called a boline - a white-handled knife - is used. An exception is the "kitchen witchcraft" philosophy, which encourages the everyday use of magical tools to increase the witch's familiarity with them. Gender: Masculine Direction: East Element: Fire/Air Uses: Mixing solutions and potions, charging and consecrating amulets and talismans. Opening and closing magic circles. Additional Information: Also known as the right handed knife. Athames must be consecrated or purified before use.
