Smudge Sticks

The burning of herbs for emotional, psychic, and spiritual purification is common practice among many religions and spiritual groups such as New Age and Pagan. The term Smudging originated in the Native American culture. Different cultures and people have their own methods and herbal mixtures for this purpose.

The cleansing smoke is used to purify people, ceremonial and ritual space, and ceremonial tools and objects. Sage may also be used to clean crystals before their use and always smudge crystals after their use to remove the negative energy they many have absorbed.
